For the forum to properly grow a set of rules for membership is to be in order.

Membership:

1) In order to be considered a member of the community/player you must have completed at least one accepted character file; A person who has not done this is still considered a guest. Guests can have their accounts terminated without notice.

2) Members who have not been active in over one month may recieve a ban/ permanent ban with a chance to revoke the ban (see rule 3.) If the player annouced that they would be away, the player's account will not be terminated.

3) To revoke a ban you must post a reason of why you should not be banned. A moderator, or group of moderators, will either accept or decline your post. If accepted, you will be a member once more. If the post is declined, then you will be banned for the span of time originally indicated. If a major rule(s) are broken, the moderators (all must be in favor) could ban your account permanently, without allowing you to post an appeal.

Last update 7-1-2010, should a change be made in the member policy a email will be sent to all members, and the topic title wil be changed. Not knowing the rules on member policy is not an excuse for any ban. Certain moderators can be safe from being banned, but not all moderators are, and immunity can be revoked at any time. Players breaking the rules can be reported by sending a report to any moderator. Bans can last any span of time from 1 day on. Moderators in charge of ban control will choose ban-time based off of the seriousness of the offence. Members with more than 2 bans could have their account deleted without notice.

Ginter these rules seem so..uptight! We shouldn't ban them just because they aren't active! I mean, maybe if we have like 30 members or so, but not now. These rules seem like there for forums with bigger communities.

True, but our member policy must be strict in terms of banning.

But, as requested, upon earning 30 members, I will enact it. Still, in terms of players being banned, they must understand their ban and the duration. Such a policy is needed.

On many of my policies I did say "may". Clearly, a good, [usually] active rper's account will not be banned without a very good reason. Inactive banning is mainly for players who have posted very little.

I see Ginter's point here. Though their should be somewhere (or even just the chatroom) where you can get a chance to tell others that you're unable to go to your computer(technical problems, holidays etc...) and remember that if you can't use a computer, normally you can't tell others like that.

Other than that, Stephie got a point here too, we're not enough to pull out a big policy yet. Remember that more members we are, easier it is to get others as the forum gets attractive, and that's the best time to pull it out, because losing some members won't botter that much.
